PBA player Mark 'MacMac' Cardona is now in stable condition after being rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he took pills in an attempt to commit suicide.
According to Cardona's sister Rowena, the NLEX guard was rushed to the University of Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Piñas where he was brought at the intensive care unit (ICU). As of the writing, his vital signs started to stabilize.
In an interview with dzMM, Rowena recalled that her younger brother hinted goodbyes noting that he can’t handle his current situation anymore. She knew he will do something drastic.
Rowena also called for prayers for his brother’s continuous recovery.
Cardona was arrested after his partner Bianca Jackes complained of domestic violence.
Rowena denied Cardona aimed a gun at Jackes, saying the cager does not own a gun.
"Isa iyon sa ikina-depress sa kapatid ko na nag-trigger sa kanya na gawin 'to sa sarili niya. Sarili naman niya ang sinaktan niya," Rowena said.
Ronald Dulatre the NLEX team manager also asked for privacy in this issue.
“We urge the public to allow Macmac and his family to have privacy at this difficult time,” said Dulatre. “Macmac is part of the NLEX Road Warrior team. We are providing whatever assistance he needs from us during this time. Thank you.”
