The island of Bohol and Cebu, Philippines, was rattled by a 7.2 magnitude and extremely dangerous earthquake on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. At least 20 fatalities was initially recorded.
The worst earthquake of the year was felt across the Visayas and Mindano area with people from as far as Zamboanga and Davao cities reported to have felt the major earthquake that hits the region.
According to Phivolcs, the quake, which hit at 8:12am, had a depth of focus of 33km and was tectonic in origin. The temblor's epicenter was located at 2km southeast of Carmen, Bohol.
The strong earthquake was felt at the following intensities:
Intensity VII - Tagbilaran, Bohol
Intensity VI - Inigaran, Negros Occidental
Intensity V- Iloilo City, La Carlota
Intensity IV - Masbate City, Roxas City, San Jose, Culasi, Antique, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental
Intensity III - Davao City
