Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach returned to Manila to crown her successor.
Wurtzbach arrived in Manila on April 12, 2015 to crown the winner of 2016 Binibining Pilipinas that will be held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City this coming April 17.
The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc., said Wurtzbach won’t be attending any commitments prior to the pageant, where she will also serve as one of the judges.
The 2016 Binibining Pilipinas will feature 40 bright, stunning and intelligent women from around the archipelago. Six of them will carry the titles – Bb. Pilipinas Universe, Bb. Pilipinas-International, Bb. Pilipinas-Supranatural, Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International,, and Bb. Pilipinas-Globe.
The pageant, which will be hosted by Xian Lim, KC Concepcion and Laura Lehmann, will be telecast live via ABS-CBN.
Wurtzbach, who had her third home-coming since she won Miss Universe 2015, earlier advised the contestants that every experience is equivalent to learning.
“Some of you are first timers. I will never forget the first time I joined Bb. Pilipinas. That definitely changed me for the better. Even though I won first runner-up, not exactly a title holder, I still learned a lot from it,” said Wurtzbach.
