Yesterday, November 22, 2013 was the wedding of Music icon Freddie Aguilar (Abdul Farid in Muslim) and his 16-year-old wife Jovi Gatdula Albao. Here are some of their wedding photos taken during their Muslim wedding rites held on Friday afternoon at BBMG Restaurant in Buluan, Maguindanao.
The wedding officiated by Maguindanao Gov. Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu. Governor Mangundadatu said he had agreed to marry the couple under Presidential Decree 1083, or the Muslim Family Code of the Philippines.
Governor Mangundadatu clarified that the desire of Freddie Aguilar to embrace Islamic faith was first expressed in 2011 before he met girlfriend Jovie Gatdula Albao, he also said that Aguilar would be accountable to God if his conversion to Islam was just for convenience.
