Dancer-turned-actor and "It’s Showtime" co-host Jhong Hilario admitted that he's in a relationship with a girl 15 years younger than him, in an interview with Anthony Taberna in "Tapatan ni Tunying," on Thursday June 26, 2014.
According to push.com's report, 35-year-old Hilario said that he's in a relationship with Maiya, a 20-year-old student. Their relationship was not easy at first but he really worked hard to earn the trust of her girlfriend’s parents and proved to them that he has a good intention.
"Ito kasi yung babaeng ipinaglaban ko talaga kahit sinabing hiwalayan na. Mali ko lang din kasi nagaaral pero nung nalaman nung family na ako yung boyfriend, and siyempre dumaan sa masusing pagiimbistiga yan, kung ako ba yung Gary sa ‘Mara Clara’pero na prove ko naman sa kanila na malinis ang intensyon ko," Jhong explained.
The former “Streetboys” member was married before with a foreigner named Michelle Westgate, yet their relationship didn't work out.
"Mahirap din kasi yung long-distance. 'Di mo makita kung compatible ba kayo sa isa’t isa. Nalaman ko din sa kanya na ayaw niya dito. ‘Di ko din makita ang future ko doon sa England. Ano ang magiging trabaho ko doon. That time nakapasok na ako sa Showtime. Bumalik na yung career ko. Naisip ko yung iiwan kong pamilya. Di ko alam kung paano ko sila iiwan," he said.
