Pinay weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz made history for the Philippines after winning Silver Medal in women's 53-kg weightlifting division in the Rio Olympics on Monday, August 8, 2016.
The 25 year-old athlete from Zamboanga becomes the first female athlete to win an Olympic medal in 20 years. She was also the first Filipino to medal in weightlifting, and the first non-boxer to medal from the Philippines since 1936.
