A man tagged as "Bulgaria's Indiana Jones" discovered a skeleton with an iron stake pierced through its chest. They called it the "vampire grave."
A dedicated archaeologist, Professor Nikolai Ovcharov, spent his life discovering and solving mysteries of ancient civilizations. Just this time, he discovered this 'vampire grave' in the ruins of Perperikon located at the ancient city of Thracian, Bulgaria just near the border of Greece.
This ancient city has only been discovered 20 years ago and had been inhabited since 5,000 BC. It is believed that this was where the Temple of Dionysius (the Greek God of wine and fertility.) There were hilltop citadel, a fortress and a sanctuary linked to the "vampire graves," as per the report of Telegraph.
Ovcharov, the archeologist, declared that what he discovered at the site is a Mediaval skeleton that was well preserved and he coined it as "vampire grave."
"We have no doubts that once again we’re seeing an anti-vampire ritual being carried out," said Professor Ovcharov. According to him, the metal stake was purposely stroke through the corpse' chest to refrain a "bad" person from rising from the dead and threatening the living.
The discovered vampire skeleton was believed to be a man aged around 40 to 50 years old.
